Benzimidazoles have occupied a unique position in heterocyclic chemistry, and its derivatives have attracted considerable interests in recent years for their versatile properties in chemistry and pharmacology. The Benzimidazole containing biologically active novel ligand was synthesized in good yield and used to prepare Co(II), Ni(II) and Cu(II) complexes. The Structure of the ligand and their metal complexes were characterized by IR, UV-Visible,1H NMR, 13C-NMR, Mass spectra, and powder XRD techniques. These complexes found to have octahedral geometry.
