Polyphenol drug integrated PVA polymer composites were prepared with borax as cross linker glycerol as plasticiser by solvent casting technique. The prepared composites (0.2 wt%, 0.4 wt%, 0.6 wt%, & 0.8 wt%) were structurally well characterized by ATIR, UV-visible, Powder XRD and SEM studies. Wound healing were studied by MTT and cell scratch assay. The incorporation of drug in polymer matrix and interaction of drug with linker is successfully established from the physiochemical characterization techniques. Physiochemical characterization confirms the absence of structural changes between the drug and polymer, but proves the physical interaction between drug and polymer. Cytotoxicity and cell viability of polymer confirmed by MTT and cell scratch assay. The resulted composite has enhanced biocompatibility, biodegrability, mechanical strength and nontoxic. The novel composites are screened for Antimicrobial study and Antibiofilm assay which reveals that the polymer composites can be employed in wound healing application.
