Herein, the paper presents the sugarcane activated carbon and its nanocomposite synthesis by hydrothermal process. The electrochemical properties depicted such aspower density, energy density; specific capacitance, charge-discharge cycles and coulombic efficiency were determinedusingCV, chronopotentiometry (CP) and EIStechniques. The XRD results reveal that sugarcane bagasse plot composite material has more intensity peaks indicates crystalline nature of the material and SBAC which has broader peaks indicates the amorphous nature. Among these, the intensity peak at 24.23⁰, the peak is not sharp which is an indication that there is amorphous nature in SBAC. Various analytical methods, such as SEM, were used to examine the materials' textural and structural characteristics. The presence of molybdenum oxide improved the specific capacitance value of sugarcane bagasse to 300.98 (F/g) at 2 mVs-1. At a current density of 5 A/g, chronopotentiometric tests indicated that the composite material remained stable for 2500 charge-discharge cycles. The another important observation was that the composite material had a coulombic efficiency of 94.32 %, compared to just 81.21 % for SBAC at 2500 cycles. The energy density of the composite material was significantly greater than that of the base material, at 25.68 Wh/kg.
